The Bund is the name given to the long waterfront area in central Shanghai, that runs alongside the Huangpu River. It is a lovely place to take a stroll - there is a wide pavement and there are lots of benches to sit on if you want to admire the view. On this side of the river, there are many fascinating buildings, with a diverse range of architectural styles. On the other side of the river, in the Pudong District, are lots of amazing skyscrapers; the tops of these disappear into the cloud on a cloudy day. If you want to cross the river, you can use the metro, take a boat across, or if you want one of the most surreal experiences of your life, use the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel.
